significantly progressed by integrating chair workouts accompanied by music, Hop Scotch, hula hoop, balloon volleyball, and much more the students have shown great enthusiasm and engagement, making it a wonderful opportunity for them to take a refreshing break from their academic routine.
Our Special Education Fitness Program emphasizes the importance of Activity Breaks in the Classroom, empowering students to take vital mental and physical breaks from their academic tasks. These breaks can happen anytime during the school day, lasting from 5 to 30 minutes, and can occur all at once or multiple times throughout the day.
With neuroscience revealing that the brain shifts its focus approximately every 90 minutes, we understand that even a brief pause from intense concentration can help consolidate information, enhancing memory retention and retrieval. Research shows that incorporating physical activity breaks into standard classroom instruction can significantly boost cognitive functioning, improve classroom behavior, and elevate academic achievement.
Through engaging in physical activities like gym exercises and team sports on the playground—such as flag football, soccer, and basketball—we inspire students to thrive, promoting both their physical well-being and academic success.
